After finishing my Scottish Highlands Tour on a Friday morning and not quite ready to travel back over the pond to the United States my travel mate and I decided to take the 5 hour train ride from Glasgow to London for the weekend. The train is after all,  a wonderful way to see the beautiful countryside of the United Kingdom.

If you have never been, London is fabulous and if you have you already know how fabulous it is! Besides all things Royal, London is the perfect place for sports, theater, vintage finds, flea markets, museums, shopping, and of course the pubs.

Our London in a day tour included: Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, Big Ben, boat ride on the River Thames and ticket to the London Eye. This tour is fun, history focused and leaving all newbies to London wanting more.

Grab your cup of hot tea and stroll through four Royal Parks on Princess Diana of Wales Memorial Walk route. Here you will enjoy St James Park, Green Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Enjoy the squirrels playing and geese trumpeting while taking in the views of Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace and St James Palace. Our stroll was feeling a little brisk with the cold damp winter air and morning frost but it is December and the sunlight cast such a warmth, it was the perfect day.

In a wink of an eye we said hello and goodbye to London, quite really a perfect weekend.
