San Fran + Sausalito + Sonoma
Three Big “Essess” packed into 3 days!
My whirlwind trip with hubby again proves to be another wonderful long weekend, I love these long weekend getaways!
We arrived in San Francisco and enjoyed an amazing show by the Blue Angels Navy squadron, as it was Fleet week and the activities around Fisherman’s Wharf were in full force.
On our second day we woke early for our tour up to Muir Woods, these Redwoods have stories to tell and we were in awe of their mightiness and beauty. I wish we had the day to stay and hike to Stinson Beach, that will for sure be a next time adventure. Our tour dropped us off in Sausalito to enjoy walking around this cute little town filled with shops and restaurants, lunch on the water watching the sail boats with a Bloody Mary ( spicy ) was the perfect way to relax in the afternoon with the warmth of the sun and warm breeze.
A little bookstore on the harbor, I found to be another happy spot as they had Golden Doodle note cards and if you have read any of my posts you know that I am for sure making a quick purchase! After a day of hiking and strolling around town we jumped on the ferry back into San Francisco, the clouds parted just for a moment and we were granted a quick glance of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Day 3 was amazing as we joined 6 others in a 60’s VW Van and headed to Sonoma for wine tasting with The Painted Ladies tour company (I highly recommend). All things wine in my mind is good. The wine tastings, the wine countryside with the backdrop of the beautiful barns and vineyards, and the company of new friends with many laughs make for a memorable day.
Day 4 we once again leave one of our favorite destinations: California – It is here where we have had over 30 years of fun adventures. We will bring our California sunshine back to Minnesota once again.
