Three nights in a far away land called Vermejo I sit in my room with stone, antique furniture, lace curtains, painted cream wood doors, oil paintings with large ornate gold frames and I am transcended to an early time.  Here I can feel the vistors past from the moment I entered, the vision is so clear.

I am awake early – 5AM.  As our day is filled with activities so full, I am worried the lovely clawfoot tub in my bath will remain dry, time here at Vermejo will go fast so I will take it all in and be intentional with all it provides in nature, wildlife, food and friends.

Fishing, rifles, hiking, horseback riding and archery are just a sample of activities here on the ranch. My evening dinner of Red Loin Deer, quail bites, and squash amazed my pallete to new heights.  Peach Cobbler for dessert was comforting and the whiskey before bed soothed my sore muscles.

Time here at Vermejo has been special, relationships formed with fellow advisors, and Vermejo employees will be remembered.  This stay is on the special list now and forever.
